Iowa state representative Francis Baltimore was arrested on January 19th, 2018 for driving while intoxicated and for being in possession of a weapon while over the legal alcohol limit.  At approximately 4:00 am police received a call that a vehicle was driving recklessly.  Police were dispatched.  Mr. Baltimore, whose vehicle matched the description given, was pulled over by the police at which time he was observed to be showing signs of intoxication such as slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.  Mr. Baltimore was also in possession of a Smith & Wesson handgun.  He did have a concealed carry license but the law does not allow a person to carry a handgun while intoxicated.

According to the Des Moines Register, Mr. Baltimore has “pushed for legislation to keep drunken drivers of the roads”.

Typical Republican.
